Artist Frequently Asked Questions:

Question: The Beatles (Animation & Memorabilia)

Answer:

Question: Why are "Yellow Submarine" cels the "Holy Grail" of this category?

Answer: Original production cels from the 1968 film are the highest-value assets. In early 2026, a cel featuring all four Beatles with an original hand-painted background reached a record estimate. These are "Museum-Grade" artifacts of pop culture.

Question: What is the value of a "Pencil Sketch" vs. a "Painted Cel"?

Answer: Painted cels are more visually striking, but "Original Storyboard Sketches" are rarer and highly prized by animation historians. Collectors should check for the "King Features" seal to ensure the piece is an original production item.

Question: Does "Provenance" from King Features affect value?

Answer: Yes. Cels with the original King Features or Apple Corps documentation are the only ones a serious collector should pursue. Unofficial "fan cels" or modern digital reproductions have zero resale value in the fine art market.
