Jacobs’ ROSES OR RED was the launching pad for the wildly successful MARILYN MONROE canvas giclée series which debuted last year. This Billy Wilder comedy classic also starred Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon as cross-dressing musicians who play in an all-girl band in gangster dominated 1929 Chicago. Nominated for several Oscars, the movie ended up the biggest moneymaking comedy up to 1959.

Another Jacob’s “Marilyn” painting fetched a record amount recently at auction. SUMMER RED sold for $50,600 in Feb and the giclée canvases are completely sold out and their value increased from $1,550 to a reported $3,800 in the secondary market.

SOME LIKE IT HOT measures 32 x 36 (canvas only) and opening price runs $1,550. ONLY 60 CANVASES WILL BE PRODUCED AND AVAILABLE THROUGH THE STUDIO. These works will be specially designated as Artist Proofs and Scott will even personalize a message on the back of the frame for each collector. As always custom framing is also available.
